What do you say when you lose your best friend? VIcky and I were not quite ready, but Chansey was ready to go today, and he left us quite suddenly.
VIcky and I bought Chansey from a pet store, after watching him get marked down time and time again..no one wanted him. We had 13 years with him a part of our family, always at my side, always watching the squirrels and stalking both the mailman and UPS man.
Our hearts are heavy and breaking; his last gift to us was to choose his time to leave so we would not have to make that last decision for him. Chansey, selfless to the end....
Until we meet again, little buddy....

ReplyDeleteLauri, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your beautiful Chansey. How wonderful that you were able to share 13 years together (I'm sure the mailman and UPS man loved that too :) I am sending you comfort and wishes that your heavy heart will become lightened by the amazing love you shared with your special friend. What is beautiful is that that love will never fade :) With peace and comfort, Michelle (one of your "pig sisters" courtesy of Lorraine :)

ReplyDeleteOh Lauri, I am so sorry to hear about Chansey - such a beautiful boy! Our dogs certainly do have such an impact on our lives - showing us the impact of selfless love, companionship, loyalty and never-ending friendship. My thoughts are with you and Vicky.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs to you, my friend!
I am so sorry for your loss. I know exactly what you are going through. We lost the best dog ever in January. Only had him for 3 years. Then in 2009 I lost my little love - had him for 9 years. They ARE your family and it is really hard. May God comfort your hearts. ~hugs ~Karen Sue
ReplyDeleteI'd like to add my sympathy to you and your family on the loss of this sweet lookin' little guy. Pets bring so much happiness into our lives, but sadness when they have to leave us. I'm so sorry for your loss.

ReplyDeleteOh, Lauri! I am so, so sorry for your loss. No matter when it happens, we are never ready for them to leave us. But remember, Chansey will live on in your hearts. Know that your life will be forever blessed because he was a part of it. Although the pain may be unbearable today, time does heal the hurt. Godspeed, little Chansey. The Twins and I send our love...

ReplyDeleteSo very sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteAwww...I'm so sorry. Our cat did the same thing in late February...he wasn't quite as old, but our household was in for some major changes (new baby) and I was worried about him. I guess he decided not to make me worry, but every day we wish he had hung around for more. :(
