2013 Artisan Entry Blog Hop: Day 6

Day 6 of the 2013 Artisan Entry Blog Hop!  Moving on from cards to 3-D items, here is my first submission, a bowl! and I apologize that the picture is so blurry!

The bowl was made by punching out circles from DSP.  I took another bowl as a mold and covered it in plastic wrap, then dipped each circle in paper mache and covered the wrapped bowl/mold.  After it dried, I covered the inside and outside of the bowl with crystal effects.  See post later today for more pictures!

Here is a better picture of a different bowl so you can see how it looks. I had made one as a prototype and had it professionally photographed in case I wanted to make more and submit for a juried craft show or sell online.  The finished product is actually quite study and fun to make!  Just the drying takes time!

Please stop by all the ladies blogs and see all the creative submissions!  You can follow the list below, or use the shortcuts below for the next or previous blogs.

Thanks for looking!

  3. What a fun and very cool idea! If you make another or take another picture, I would love to see something with it so we can get an idea of the size. Something like an orange or banana (or whatever will look best with your paper). Very clever!
