Welcome to the Operation Write Home Spring Bloghop!! If you've arrived here from Maria's blog, welcome - if you're stumbling onto the hop right now, you might want to start at http://www. owhstarsandstamps.org to see all the great blogs!
With weather up in the 70's the past few days, I am full of Spring Fever! My card is fun and bright and inspired by another card maker, Fran Sabad.
When I discovered Operation Write Home, I knew I had found a great organization! When you have a few minutes, take a look at their blog and in particular, their videos. That is what caught my eye...to read the testimonials of the troops who receive our handmade cards to send home.
I love to receive handmade cards from friends, and I love to make cards. I think about all the people who selflessly sacrifice every days for us here back home..safe...and I want to do something for them. Sharing a bit of my creativity with them is the answer for me! I think about someone in a far away place choosing one of my cards to write a note home in, and I smile....makes my hobby all the more worth while!
I am working on Mother's Day cards now, with an April 1 deadline...won't you think about sending some too? Think about a service person overseas sending their mother, grandmother, wife a beautiful home made Mother's Day card this year...one that you made!
To help say thank you to my readers and fellow card makers, I am giving away a $25 gift certificate to Stampin up! I will cover shipping, so you get to pick out a stamp set, some cardstock, ink ..whatever you need! Just leave a comment here and let me know if you are just learning about OWH for the first time, or whether you are already a supporter! . If you'd like to be entered and you are NOT a blogger, please provide your email address like this: name at server dot com and then I can contact you if you win! (If you're a blogger I can click on your name and leave you the news on your blog!) I will pick a winner Sunday night, around 9PM EST.
Leave me a comment below, and then hop on over to Kathy's blog! You will be wowed by her cards and her personal story!
card details: cased from Fran Sabad
stamps: Stampin Up With All My Heart
inks: Stampin Up Tempting Turquoise, Pixie Pink, Summer Sun
