Operation Write Home Memorial Day Weekend Bloghop

The weekend is here! and so if the Operation Write Home Memorial Day Weekend Bloghop!
If you are looking for the beginning  of the hop, you can find it here at the OWH Blog!  If you are stopping by from Jan's post....welcome and you are on your way!

This weekend's hop features red, white and blue Missing You cards, and I decided to do a  tri-shutter card.  Yesterday I had the privilege of doing an AnyHero card signing with a class of fourth graders, and they reminded me of the very simple freedoms we often take for granted.

While this card make look at little intimidating in its construction, it really is easy!  and one tip I have for every new card maker...simple is good!  So while the construction may be a little advanced, I kept the layout and design simple!  This would be the kind of card someone would love to display...and that is why shutter cards are so fun!

ETA:  I followed instructions I found online in several spots....but since many have asked for a tutorial....I will do one!

In the meantime...there is a tutorial on the OWH blog!

Please take a moment out of your weekend to remember those who serve us, and to thank them for defending our freedoms every day!

Now on to the next stop...

  33. Hi Laurie Sweetie...
I am Country Wings your newest follower. I love this shutter card that you have made. The choices of papers, words and style is so awesome. You really outdid yourself.

I love it. Thank you for inspiring me to try to make a few cards to send to OWH too. I would love to do something that I can do from my recliner. I have been having lung issues for about a month now. In the hospital for 8 days, and now can't go outside, but I might have a few things around the house that I too could make a few cards to send. It would make me so happy to know that I could touch a soldier's heart.

Please stop by and say hi. I would be so honored if you signed up to follow my blog as well.

    Country hugs sweetie...Sherry
