What is Clean and Simple? Well for me, it is all about keeping the design and layers simple! Focus on the image! So....here is my take on the sketch....
When we received the preview of the Paisley Petals DSP, I fell in love with the colors and design. Then....a matching stamp set appeared in the catalog! yay! I stamped one of the images from the set on Whisper White, and colored it in the colors of the DSP using my Blender Pens and ink pads. My first version did not have a sentiment and the card seemed weird....missing something....so I added a sentiment. Not sure I like it so let me know what you think!

You have colored this beautifully. I often find placing the sentiment the hardest part of completing a card. This looks good.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful coloring, Lauri! The bling adds so much! I often don't know what to do with the sentiment, but you have placed it perfectly!
ReplyDeleteOMG, Lauri your coloring job is outstanding! I shy away from the outline stamps but you've made it sing! Love the trio of rhinestones in the corners--great take on the circles in the sketch! I think your sentiment is perfect right where it is! Lovely job!
ReplyDeleteLauri, this is gorgeous! You really brought that image to life with all of those beautiful colors. WOW! I really like how you placed the sentiment, too. It just "fits". The blinged out corners are the perfect finishing touch. Just stunning! Enjoy your day! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the paisley - I certainly hope we get it in Australia! I love how you've used the bling in the corners. Theresa x
ReplyDeleteVery pretty-your coloring is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOh my word.....that's not a piece from the DSP? You did a fantastically beautiful job coloring this. Love your added ling too.
ReplyDeleteLauri, a fabulous coloring job on this wonderful card. I, too, battle with sentiment placement. I think your choice was spot on.

Ooh, what a pretty stamp Laurie and great colouring skills ... I soo hope we get it "down-under".
ReplyDeleteI know all about the sentiment - I went through exactly the same thing this week! Where you have used your sentiment is exactly where it should be ... and I love the pop of colour behind!
And your pretty bling sets the whole thing off very nicely!!!
Great job ...
What beautiful colouring, Lauri! I love the corner bling too
