Freshly Made Sketch #6

What a nice surprise I had when Lesley, from The Paper Players and Freshly made Sketches asked me to create a card for this week's sketch challenge and be featured!!  I have been playing along (although I missed last week...bah!) and hope you do too!

In the midst of Halloween, autumn and Christmas fair preparation, I decided to use a set from the current catalog that is so much fun....Take a Spin! I added a birthday hat using Pennant Parade, and the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

For the color combo, I used this combination from the Color Coach:  Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler and Pumpkin Pie.  Hope you like this card, more of a masculine card than I typically make!  Check out the Design Team Samples this week!  They are always wonderful!!  Looking forward to seeing you all play along!

stamps:  Take A Spin, Pennant Parade, Teeny Tiny Wishes
inks:  Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie
cardstock:  Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, retired hostess paper pack
accessories:  Cherry Cobbler Twine, punches and Game Spinner

  1. Hey there, Laurie! Congrats on the Featured Designer spot. Very well deserved! Your card is darling! Gah! Why do I ot own this set? Probably because it has never looked cuter then this! Great details and I love that sassy party hat! Hope your week is going great! Hugs! :)

  2. Hi Laurie - so glad you joined us this week! This card is adorable! Party hat and games - perfect birthday combo! Love that Baker's Twine as well!

  3. I agree with Lesley! You just made me need this set, and I wasn't really attracted to it until now. I love how you made the one section a different color. And the Pennant Parade hat is the perfect compliment. Thanks for sharing your awesome talent with us this week!

  4. Hi Lauri, so lovely to have you join us as Featured Designer this week, I love your creations and this one is no exception ... what a great stamp set, this is the first time I have seen it put to use and oh my ... what possiblities ... love love that background embossing!

  5. Wow, what a fantastic showcase of why you are the Featured Designer! I, too, love a change of pace from all the Christmas and this really fits the bill. The Baker's Twine is such a great addition and I love the spinner. So glad to work with you this week at Freshly Made Sketches!

  6. Hey Lauri it's great to have you with us this week and you've created a super card for our challenge this week! That houndstooth background is fabulous!

  8. Congrats on being Featured, great card. Love the spinner and textured background.

  9. Hi Lauri!
I finally made it here this week! OH I am SO happy it is Friday! LOL! You have created such a cool card, I love your take on the sketch and the hounds tooth folder is something I totally overlooked in the cattie! Awesome job!

  10. This is so delightful, Lauri! I love that houndstooth background. The stamp set you used really pops off it.

  11. Lauri, this is such a fun, masculine card! I really should get that set as I love interactive cards; I'd probably spin them all and break them before I could get them sent out. :) You picked the perfect embossing folder; the houndstooth looks awesome with all the other elements!

Thank you SO much for taking a few minutes to leave me a note!
