Our Creative Corner Square Scallop Card

This week's sketch challenge over at Our Creative Corner, is to create a square card with a scallop border.  I have some work stuff to get done today, but I wanted to spend at least a few minutes doing something fun!

Here are the details!

  • I used the clear scallop square die for the card front, adhering a 4" square card base behind it. I used Pear Pizazz as my main cardstock color, adding a mat to the front in Riding Hood Red.
  •  From the Twitterpatted set, I used the Pear Pizazz pattern and stamped the flower image from Summer Soltice in Riding Hood Red.
  • After I punched those out, I mounted them on one of the circles from the circles 2 die, also in pear pizazz.
  • The sentiment is stamped in Riding Hood Red on vellum and wrapped around the mat.
  • Lastly, I stamped the butterfly from the same set in Riding Hood Red on both vellum and Pear Pizazz, fussy cut them and layered.
Looking at it now, I should have altered the flower angles a bit more will do!  Thanks for looking!

  1. Gorgeous Lauri, the sentiment on velum looks great as does the flower in each circle.

  2. Lauri, what a gorgeous card! I love how you kept the background pattern paper through out the card and the sentiment is so touching.
Thank you for playing along with us @ OCC

  3. Beautiful, Lauri! Love the colors you used and the stamp set is beautiful! I just got this die last month so I need to play with it! Thanks for the inspiration today!

  4. This is lovely! I don't even remember seeing that sentiment in the catalog, but I love this sketch with these images!

  5. Looks like that will be for someone who is very special. I love the way you used the dsp behind the flowers. The grid pattern it makes is so pretty.

  6. Lauri ... this is just fabulous, I love this card, the peeking flowers, the simple butterfly and that vellum sentiment is just perfect!
