The one where I try to use waffle paper

Last month I discovered that TBS shows Friends episodes at night and I find myself watching every night, especially since they recently started way back at the beginning. I always chuckle at their episode titles, so today's title is an homage to theirs~

I have had this roll of waffle paper sitting here on my desk, and have had no success using it...so I tried once again for this week's Paper Players sketch.

ETA!  Thanks to Lesley for pointing out this weeks Red Challenge at Pal Paper Arts!

My hairdresser is getting married in a few weeks, so I wanted to make her a card.  I have no idea what her colors are but I wanted to use this gorgeous pattern from Twitterpatted so Riding Hood Red it is!

How did I come up with this you may ask??
  • The set is actually a retired one, called For the Bride. It is very similar to the current set Love and Laughter, but since I don't have that (yet!), I used this set.
  • For the flower thing in the corner, I gathered some retired Riding Hood Red with thread and tied it off.  Then...I tried to make a rosettes out of the waffle paper.
  • The rosette didn't work, so I made some creative little snips to make it sort of into a flower. but not really.
  • Pearls (thank you ann schach)...many pearls....perhaps to detract from the weird flower.
That's all for today!  thanks for looking!

  1. First of all I have never seen that stamp - how come? I adore it! It looks beautiful on your card! And I appreciate your flower - looks wonderful in my book! You never see flowers on my cards - or in my yard - I am a flower failure - no matter if they are real or paper!

  7. As soon as I saw you post title I let out a chuckle, Lauri. Could this card BE any prettier? (said in Chandler Bing-voice) That embossed image is so perfect with the DSP and holy cow is that flower fabulous, or what? There is nothing "wierd" at all about it. Waffle paper baffles me and thanks to your card I am totally inspired to give it another chance. Thanks so much for joining us this week at the Paper Players! :) Hugs!
