Two challenges and some news!

Happy Saturday!  Today's card is for two challenges, Stampin Celebrations' Inspiration Challenge, and Craft Project Central's Card Sketch 26.

 I have just recently started doing inspiration challenges and not sure why I waited!  Here is how I came up with the card...

1. I picked out a few elements of the Inspiration Challenge at Stampin Celebration.
• Colors:  Purple and Green
• Design elements:  Polka Dots
2. I chose the set Polka Dot Pieces because is also matched the fun, graphic nature of the inspiration.
3. The CPC Sketch lends itself really well to the flowers, so I stamped two of the flowers in both Rich Razzleberry and Wisteria Wonder.  I punched out both the entire images as well as just the centers.
4. For the main flower, I also punched out a solid piece from Rich Razzleberry using the 1 3/4" punch.
5. For the sentiment, I just cut out the sentiment from the set by hand.
6. The button is from the Brights Collection, tied with a little Wisteria Wonder Bakers Twine.
7. Lastly, to add some additional texture, I simply embossed the background using the dots folder.
8. I added a few pearls for fun!

Now for my quick news....I am honored to have been asked to be a guest designer in September for Craft Project Central.  I am in the midst of creating the project...and hope you love it!  Here is a little hint...if you ever wonder what to do with all that brown packing paper from your Stampin Up orders, this project will help you out!  More to come when the time gets closer!
